Weed scraping machine at Moondarah Dam, Mt Isa, Qld
this dam is
home to Barramundi fish over 1 metre long and fresh water crocodiles
up to 11ft (which the locals consider harmless, they swim in the
dam - it is the saltwater crocodiles that have a repuation for snacking
on humans)
Awesome dawn
at Cadney Park Homestead, Northern Territory
myself and
10 back packers from Europe watched in awe at this amazing display
of colour in the desert for over 15 minutes as the Creator declared
another day had begun
Glenlyon Lake,
Qld
near Tenterfield
morning fog
lifts from the lake and hills behind.
Golden Perch fish (Yellowbelly) in excess of 50lbs are caught here
regularly
Dawn near
Tenterfield, NSW
sunlight bursts
onto the Australian landscape, photo taken about 40kms west of Tenterfield,
near the NSW, Qld border
53 metres long,
and capable of hauling 150 tons cargo for 1,500 kms without refuelling,
these monsters of the highway create huge side pressures when passing
and can literally blow you off the road if you pass too close to
each other
this is one
way in the Northern territory to overcome high fuel prices in small
towns on long trips-
there is enough
fuel in those drums (purchased at wholesale prices) to get 2,500
kms without refuelling, a saving of about $250.00 on one trip!
